ABOUT US

Crear Publishing is a small but mighty ethical independent publisher based in the picturesque County Durham, England. We’re purpose-driven, passionate about storytelling, and committed to publishing books that truly matter, stories that inspire, connect and leave a lasting impact.

We exist to champion voices that might otherwise go unheard. Whether it’s a debut writer or someone with a powerful lived experience, we’re here to support authors who want to publish with integrity, heart and meaning. Collaboration, fairness and kindness are the foundations of how we work, and we take pride in creating a space where authors feel genuinely supported and respected.

Our journey began in a very personal way. Following a life-changing cancer diagnosis, our founders decided to turn adversity into opportunity and make good on a long-held dream. From that difficult moment came a clear mission: to share stories that not only captivate readers, but also offer hope, insight and inspiration. In January 2023, Crear Publishing was born, and with the release of our first title, we stepped into the world of independent publishing determined to do things differently.

Since then, we’ve published a growing list of bold, heartfelt and sometimes humorous books, stories that spark conversation and linger long after the last page. One of our proudest achievements is seeing one of our books transformed into the BBC podcast Love Bombed with Vicky Pattison, with two TV documentaries now in development. These projects reflect our belief in the power of storytelling to reach far and wide, and to elevate voices that deserve to be heard.

At the heart of everything we do is a deep commitment to giving back. Every book we publish contributes to causes we care about, including Newcastle Women’s Aid, to whom we donate a percentage of profits from the books Playing With Fire and Healing From the Burns. We also support Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Epilepsy Society in recognition of the life-saving care and research they provide, and the National Deaf Children’s Society, driven by personal connections and the importance of ensuring every child has the chance to thrive. In addition, Karen and Coleen personally donate their public speaking fees to help support these organisations and raise awareness of the issues at the heart of their work.

Our books now reach readers in more than nine countries, and our community is growing all the time. But for us, it’s never just about numbers, it’s about creating lasting change through powerful stories. We remain focused on our mission: to publish books that uplift the human spirit, cross borders and bring people together, while standing proudly beside the authors who make it all possible.

Mission

To guide and empower authors on their publishing journey.

Our mission is to support authors with integrity, creativity and care, offering personalised guidance on how to successfully self-publish their books. For those who prefer a more traditional route, we also offer the option to publish under the Crear Publishing imprint, always with clear, ethical and low-cost support. Whether an author chooses self-publishing or partnership publishing, we are here to ensure their story is brought to life professionally and purposefully.

Values

To be the trusted home for ethical, independent publishing support.

We envision a publishing world where authors are empowered to make informed choices, free from exploitation or vanity models. Our goal is to become a leading provider of honest, high-quality self-publishing guidance, while offering a transparent alternative for those who wish to publish with us. Through every book we help shape or publish, we aim to nurture literary talent, inspire readers, and support meaningful, lasting storytelling.

Vision

Integrity. Creativity. Compassion.

At Crear Publishing, we believe that every author deserves honest support, professional guidance and a fair path to publication, without inflated costs or empty promises. Too many writers are taken advantage of by unscrupulous people, which is why we are committed to offering a more ethical alternative.

Our core focus is helping authors self-publish successfully, providing step-by-step guidance with transparency and care. For those who would rather not manage the process themselves, we offer a low-cost publishing service under the Crear Publishing imprint, always grounded in trust and collaboration.

We uphold the highest standards of quality, working closely with authors to ensure their stories are published with pride. Our commitment to fairness extends beyond books, through charitable giving and a belief in the power of stories to uplift and connect.

We are here not to take control of your story, but to help you tell it your way.
