Crear Publishing is thrilled to be organising the North East Children’s Indie Book Fest at Field & Fodder in Bearpark on 25th July 2026. With wonderful authors, live readings and fun activities, it promises to be a fantastic day for families. More than anything, the festival celebrates the magic of stories and the power of reading to spark imagination, build confidence and open new worlds for children across the North East.

Every Christmas we lovingly dress our sweet, gentle rescue cat in her festive outfit, and every year she rewards us with the same thunderous look of betrayal. She freezes like a furry gargoyle, silently plotting revenge, while we laugh, apologise and snap photos. Christmas simply wouldn’t be Christmas without her iconic expression of festive fury.

October was a month of creativity and community at Crear Publishing! From supporting the Dragonfly Cancer Trust and releasing A Christmas Caroline on audiobook, to welcoming new authors and recording a Local Heroes podcast episode, it’s been a busy and inspiring few weeks. Here’s a look at what’s been happening behind the scenes.

We were deeply honoured to receive a letter from Clarence House, written on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, after my Coleen Greenwood sent her a copy of Playing with Fire. The letter praised our work supporting women in adversity and our ongoing donations to Women’s Aid. It’s a moment of recognition we’ll treasure, a royal reminder of the power of resilience, courage, and shared experience.

Crear Publishing was proud to join Write Festival 2025 with the BIPC, sharing insights on indie publishing and my personal writing journey. The event was full of energy, with inspiring questions from aspiring authors and lots of interest in our services. It was a brilliant opportunity to connect, share knowledge and support the next wave of independent writers. We're excited for what's to come!
