Beacon of Light

Leora grew up in the decaying mortal town of Ravenmoor, where her childhood is marked by severe physical and sexual abuse at the hands of her unstable mother. The violence leaves her hypervigilant, chronically ill and conditioned to anticipate danger in every silence.

After years of failed interventions her father and his partner Karys finally rescue Leora and her sisters, giving them 9 years of fragile safety. But when her father and Karys separate, Leora’s sense of stability collapses again, and the shadows of her past begin to resurface.

Now twenty-two, Leora lives alone in the remnants of her childhood home, preparing it for new owners. As she packs the last traces of her past, she begins experiencing strange sensations: metallic tastes, shifting shadows, and a supernatural pull that coils beneath her skin. Her trauma heightens her sensitivity to these disturbances, blurring the line between memory and something far older and darker reaching for her.

As Leora’s nightmares intensify and the shadows in her home begin to move with purpose, she senses that something is watching her. Her reflection distorts, her vision blacks out, and the house seems to breathe around her.

Far across the realm, Valthren feels her fear like a beacon and begins his descend toward Ravenmoor, unaware that their meeting will unravel the curse binding them both. Valthren crosses into the mortal realm and enters Leora’s childhood home, observing the decay and ruin inside as shadows follow him, confirming that the source of the tremor is tied to this place.
