North East Indie Book Fest 2025
The North East Indie Book Festival took place this weekend (20th September) and despite the dreadful weather outside, our venue was bursting with energy, enthusiasm and a full house of book lovers.
Eight brilliant local indie authors took to the stage, each sharing their unique writing journeys. From first sparks of inspiration to the challenges and triumphs of self-publishing, the audience was treated to honest, inspiring and often moving stories that truly captured the spirit of independent writing.
It was heartening to see so many people braving the rain to come together in support of local voices. The atmosphere inside the venue was warm and vibrant, proof that a love of books can brighten even the stormiest of days.
We are proud to have created a platform where talented authors can connect directly with readers, and where readers can discover new stories that may one day become their favourites.
A huge thank you to the authors (details below), Chloe, Aki and the staff from Field & Fodder for such an amazing space to host the event(details below), Nic from Rocks Training for helping us secure funding to help make the event a success (details below).
Here’s to many more celebrations of creativity, community and the power of independent publishing in the North East.
We are starting work on our next book festival. Keep an eye on our blog for more details!
