What a day!
This past Saturday, Crear Publishing was proud to take part in the Write Festival 2025, hosted in collaboration with the BIPC (Business & Intellectual Property Centre). I was honoured to be invited to speak on a panel about the self-publishing and independent publishing journey, as well as to share a bit about our own experience as both a writer (Karen) and publisher (myself).
The event was packed with brilliant energy, enthusiastic readers and so many aspiring authors eager to understand the world of both self publishing and indie publishing. The audience came prepared with thoughtful, practical questions and I loved the opportunity to demystify the publishing process and offer real, actionable advice.
One of the highlights? Meeting so many writers who are at different stages of their journey, from those scribbling their first chapters to others sitting on complete manuscripts, ready to take the next step. We had a fantastic number of enquiries from attendees who are interested in working with Crear Publishing, whether through editorial services, book design, distribution or full publishing support.
And yes, we even managed to sell a few books, too!
Days like this are exactly why I love what we do. The passion, creativity and ambition in the room were infectious. If Saturday was anything to go by, the indie author scene is thriving in the Northeast and the next year is going to be a busy and exciting one for us!
Thank you to everyone who came, listened, asked questions, bought books or simply stopped by for a chat. And huge thanks to the Write Festival and BIPC team for putting on such a warm, welcoming and purposeful event.
Here’s to empowering more voices, publishing more brilliant books, and helping more authors realise their dreams.
